John E. Bannon

John E. Bannon, Eye Candy (background)

Born in Evanston, Illinois and now residing in Chicago, John E. Bannon is a multi-media visual artist with work in public and private collections worldwide. He obtained a BFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990 followed by an MFA in 2002 from the School of the Art Institute. Notable exhibitions include, most recently, the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass in Neenah, WI, Truck Gallery in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the Lakefront Sculpture Exhibition in Chicago,  Fassbender/Stevens Gallery in San Francisco/Chicago, Miami’s Institute of Contemporary Art, the Glass Art Societies in Seto and Hain-Chu City, Taiwan, Japan, Bob Rauschenberg Gallery in Ft. Myers, and Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival. His work is published in The Chicago Public Art Guide, CTA Public Art, UR Chicago Magazine, and the Chicago Tribune. His art appears in collections like the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, Rowan University in New Jersey, Chicago Transit Authority Headquarters, Chicago’s Clune Construction, and Cellular One in Baltimore. He has received numerous accolades including grants from the Illinois Arts Council, a Community Artist Assistance (CAAP) Grant, a Governor’s International Arts Exchange Program Grant, IL and a Travel Grant from Fuji Hunt. www.johnebannon.com.
